Summary

Our report into medical devices shows that innovation is often not meeting the usability needs of an ageing population.   

The research, conducted by FT company Longitude, reveals the thoughts of 210 senior executives from across Europe. In part the problems are:  

• Focusing on budget and time instead of user interaction 
• Delay with nearly 8 of 10 hesitating at crucial moments 
• 70% insisting on convoluted controls and processes
